Redefining Africa’s
Energy Potential

About

Terravolts Technologies is reimagining Bitcoin mining in Africa by turning wasted energy into productive digital infrastructure. Our mobile, modular data centres are deployed directly at oil and gas sites, where we capture flared natural gas and excess electricity and convert them into nonstop computing power. This approach not only creates dependable digital revenue but also cuts emissions and unlocks value from Africa’s stranded energy resources.

Our Vision

To lead Africa in transforming wasted and underutilized energy into sustainable digital assets and reliable power solutions for the continent’s energy future.

Our Mission

We partner with energy operators and utilities to convert flared or unused gas into economic opportunities. By deploying portable computing infrastructure at the source, we help stabilize power systems, reduce environmental harm, and generate new revenue streams from energy that would otherwise be wasted.

Understanding Gas Flaring

Gas flaring is the practice of burning off natural gas that surfaces during oil production or processing. While often done for safety and operational reasons, it results in massive energy loss and harmful emissions.

The environmental cost is staggering: in 2023, an estimated 148 billion cubic meters of gas were flared globally, releasing more than 381 million tonnes of CO₂-equivalent — the same as emissions from over 77 million cars in a year. Beyond greenhouse gases, flaring also releases toxic pollutants that threaten nearby communities with higher risks of respiratory illness, heart disease, and other health challenges.

Why In-Field Computing Matters

Instead of wasting gas or relying on costly midstream infrastructure, in-field computing creates value directly at the source. By converting excess or stranded gas into computing power, producers can:

This model positions operators to thrive in an energy sector that is rapidly shifting toward efficiency, digitalization, and sustainability.

Our Solution

Gas-to-Compute Systems

We don’t just mine Bitcoin — we’re building the bridge between Africa’s energy sector and the digital economy. Our mobile, gas-powered data centers bring a range of benefits:

Unlock New Revenue from Wasted Energy

Instead of flaring gas with no return, we turn every cubic foot into fuel for continuous computing. This creates instant, on-site revenue streams through Bitcoin mining and high-performance computing — without pipelines, grid dependency, or middlemen.

Improve Efficiency and Cut Emissions

Our plug-and-play solution connects seamlessly to existing wells and generators. It consumes surplus gas that would otherwise be burned, helping operators maximize asset value while significantly lowering emissions of CO₂, methane, and black carbon.

Strengthen ESG and Regulatory Compliance

With global pressure mounting to reduce routine flaring, energy companies need solutions that show measurable impact. Our model allows operators to:

  • Decrease flare volumes
  • Demonstrate real ESG improvements
  • Report progress credibly to regulators and investors

Build Resilience with Diversified Revenue

Energy markets are unpredictable. By adding a digital, globally liquid revenue stream to traditional gas sales, operators gain a buffer against commodity price swings and ensure long-term competitiveness in a digitized global economy.
